Forward Deployed Engineer (Senior)

Job Description:

Work hands-on with enterprise clients to scope, design and ship software using Moon Lab’s AI-accelerated delivery model
Operate as the technical bridge between client stakeholders and our engineering team, from discovery workshops to production launch
Configure and extend our internal delivery platform (Moon Lab Studio) for each client environment: requirements generation, code review gates, test automation and release pipelines
Integrate with client systems (legacy cores, cloud services and third-party APIs) with the discipline regulated industries expect
Own outcomes end-to-end: quality, security review readiness, documentation and knowledge transfer to client teams
Travel to client sites in Hong Kong as needed

5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in client-facing or consulting engagements
Strong engineering fundamentals across backend and frontend (e.g. TypeScript, Node.js or Python, React or similar, SQL/NoSQL databases)
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure), CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
Practical experience using AI tools (e.g. AI coding assistants, LLM APIs) in real delivery work, with the judgment to know when not to trust them
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Cantonese or Mandarin a plus)
Comfortable operating independently in ambiguous, enterprise environments

Experience in fintech, banking or other regulated industries
Experience with legacy system integration or mainframe modernization programmes
Background in developer tooling, platform engineering or internal developer experience
